2021, is that you?

Whew! Where do I start?! It had not been 24 hours into 2021 and God had been showing out already! I was having such a good time bringing in the New Year with my housemates that we didn’t go to bed until close to 3 a.m. knowing that I had to be up and at the airport by 5 a.m. to make my 6:30 a.m. flight. Well...after hitting the snooze button three times I figured it was time for me to get up and once I looked at the clock it was well past 5 a.m. *insert face palm*

By the grace of God, I made it to the airport by the skin of my teeth. Completely out of breath I get to my seat realizing I was the last one to board. The flight attendant comes up to me and says “Excuse me mam, but you can move up to first class. You’ve been upgraded.” Listen to me yall, I could have cried. I was so dang tired! I needed all the cushion and recline a chair could offer me and this my friends was creme del a creme on a Delta flight! Granted it was only a 30 minute flight from Grand Rapids to Detroit but still 🤣 God was looking out!

Alright, so boom! Made it to Detroit and I’ve got 3 hours to kill before my flight to Mexico. So I’m like...I’m just gonna go chill in the Delta Sky Club Lounge. It’s usually not very crowded, they have food, drinks and stuff. So I walked in there with the friendliest smile and scanned my ticket and such and the lady was like “You are not coming up m’am” and I am dumbfounded. She was like do you have your card? And I’m looking through my stuff and I don’t 🤦🏽‍♀️I’m like “yoooo! This can’t be life!” But the lady was sweet and allowed me access anyhow. I chilled in the lounge drinking coffee and a few mimosas until it was time for me to head to my gate.

As I walked to the gate, I double checked with my friend to see what seat she’s in and she told me that hers was in first class. And I’m like “bruh! 😒Why you ain’t tell me sooner so I would have switched my seat?!” but I didn’t fret. I just walked up to the counter and asked if I could upgrade to first class. He tells me that all the seats in first class are full (because of COVID, they can’t actually seat to its full capacity). So I walked away and was headed back until I thought to ask him another question. As I approached the counter for the second time, he asked me what my last name was again and handed me a piece of paper and said “here’s your new boarding pass with your new seat in first class”.

Whew! Yall! I can’t make this up! Where there was no room, suddenly he made room! *insert shout music* I immediately called my mom to tell her what happened because in less than 24 hours into 2021 God showed me what it looked like to walk in FAVOR! Not that I didn’t know what it looked like and felt like before, but this time was different. It was like a domino effect...one right after the other. 🤯

If you’ve read this far (thanks for rollin’ with me!)

...in this moment I truly hear God saying this is the year of ACCESS! What was once closed doors, there will now be open ones!

But really what I want to tell you is...in this moment I truly hear God saying this is the year of ACCESS! What was once closed doors, there will now be open ones! Opportunities will be made available to you - ones that you didn’t even seek out, they will just come to you! What’s truly important though is that we must be prepared. We must be sure of ourselves. We must walk through those doors looking, feeling and acting like we belong. We can no longer assume the identity of someone else, we have to walk boldly in the image that God so purposely crafted for us.

I’m not sure who this (message) post is for but that’s it. This is my blog post. ❤️
